Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbaeva held a meeting with Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus Natalia Kochanova in St. Petersburg.

During the negotiations, issues related to the effective continuation of inter-parliamentary dialogue between the two countries were discussed.

Both sides noted that the Memorandum of Cooperation signed last year between the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus and the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan has elevated relations to a higher level.

Views were exchanged on the development and adoption of a plan of joint practical measures for implementing the current Memorandum.

Agreement was reached to include in it such issues as improving the mechanism for joint monitoring of the implementation of agreements reached during high-level visits, exchanging experiences in parliamentary activities, developing women’s entrepreneurship and enhancing the role of women in society, as well as strengthening the role of youth parliaments.

Tanzila Narbaeva invited Natalia Kochanova to visit Uzbekistan on an official visit.
