Regulation on the Provision of Insurance Services in Electronic Form Approved

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On November 11, 2024, the Ministry of Justice registered the Regulation on the provision of insurance services in electronic form. This regulation was approved by the order of the Director of the National Agency for Prospective.

Projects of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 9, dated September 12, 2024, under registration No. 3571.

The regulation outlines the requirements and conditions that must be met when providing insurance services electronically. In particular, it stipulates that:

- Insurance contracts can be concluded electronically through the Unified System, the Unified Portal of Interactive Government Services of the Republic of Uzbekistan, or the insurer’s or insurance agent’s software (information systems).

- Insurance contracts for all types of insurance are registered through the Unified System, and the issuance of insurance policies is carried out via this system in accordance with the Regulation.

- Insurance agents providing services electronically must allow policyholders to freely choose insurers in their applications (information systems) and display insurer ratings as announced by the authorized state body.

- The registration of mandatory insurance contracts (such as mandatory employer liability, carrier liability, etc.) in electronic form is carried out directly through the policyholder’s personal account in the Unified System.

- All reinsurance contracts are also registered through the Unified System.

- All insurance policies are issued in a unified standard form, except in cases where a different form is approved by legislation.

- The validity of an insurance policy can be verified by a special code (QR code) on the policy.

- All insurance claims are registered in the Unified System.

- If the requirements and conditions for using the Unified System are violated, the use of the system by insurers will be partially or fully suspended.

The regulation will enter into force three months after its official publication.
