Regulation of microcredit organizations discussed in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A roundtable dedicated to issues related on improving legislative base on regulation of microcredit organizations’ activities was held in Tashkent, the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said.

The event was organized in line with adoption of law “On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan” from 29 December 2012, which introduced changes and amendments to laws “On microfinancing” and “On microcredit organizations”.

Central Bank of Uzbekistan organized the roundtable in cooperation with National Assosiation of microfinance organizations at the support of regional programme on assisting to microfinancing of German International Cooperation Society (GIZ). Representatives of Central Bank, microfinance sector, heads of microfinancing organizations and experts participated at the event.

Microcredit organizations currently play key role in rendering microfinancing services in Uzbekistan. Their number and volume of transactions are increasing. Main advantage of these organizations is that they provide services fast and have flexible pledge terms, etc.

Participants of the roundtable received opportunity to discuss proposals and recommendations on introduction of changes and amendments to existing legislation and regulation of activities of microcredit organizations.

All constructive proposals were summarized and will be used in introduction of changes to legislative acts.

At the same time, the participants considered issues on further developing microcredit organizations in Uzbekistan, improving normative documents, which regulate microcrediting organizations.
