Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Practical steps have begun in Uzbekistan to transfer the management of regional electricity networks to the private sector. This was announced by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the President, a tender will be announced in October of this year to attract a private operator for managing the electricity networks in Samarkand region.

Similar measures are planned for the regions of Jizzakh and Syrdarya next year, the President added.
