Reforms in tax and customs systems discussed in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan, the Institute of Budget and Tax Studies under the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan jointly with KOICA organized an international scientific and practical conference on “Tax and customs systems: trends and issues of reform”.

During the conference, a senior specialist of the World Bank on taxation, Razhul Avasti, (head of the World Bank tax mission on assisting the tax reform of the Republic of Uzbekistan) delivered a report on "Smart tax policy, smart tax administration".

According to him, the measures of state support and economic incentives play key role in the course of the tax reform aimed at increasing the investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan’s economy for business

The foreign expert, Dmitry Kotikov, the head of the department of priority projects of the Analytical Department of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, shared the experience and prospects of development of the customs service of Russia.

Timur Ismayilov, Senior Consultant of the secretariat of the State Tax Committee, made a presentation on the modeling of tax revenues and the identification of the potential of the regions, based on the experience of the Republic of Korea.

During the conference, issues of development of tax and customs systems of Uzbekistan were discussed. The event brought together leading national and foreign experts, representatives of various departments from relevant sectors of the economy.

Speakers at the conference discussed the most topical issues of reforming and further development of the tax and customs spheres of the economy.
