Record-equalling fifth game for Ravshan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan referee Ravshan Irmatov will equal the record for number of matches in charge in a single FIFA World Cup when he takes charge of the Netherlands-Uruguay semi-final on Tuesday.

It will be his fifth match of the 2010 tournament, equaling the 2006 records of Mexican Benito Archundia and Argentina’s Horacio Elizonda, who refereed the final between Italy and France.

The record for most number of matches refereed in total belongs to Frenchman Joel Kinio and Uruguay’s Jorge Larrionda, on eight each.

UAE’s Ali Boujsaim has refereed seven matches while Syrian Jamal Al Sharif and Jamal Al Ghandour, of Egypt, have officiated in six games.
