To achieve these goals, the factions of the party in parliament and MPs Group in local Councils adopt active participation in development of institute of parliament and MP control as important tool to ensure openness and transparency of the executive power, strengthening role of parliament and representative bodies in places.
On initiative of the UzLiDeP faction, the mechanism on hearing reports of the Prime Minister was implemented. In July 2011, Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyayev presented a report on programme of measure on further deepening democratic reforms and liberalization of economy. During hearing, reforms in economy of Uzbekistan, raising income of population and other vital issues were discussed.
Faction of the UzLiDeP initiated hearings on information of ministries and departments in the committees. Over 30 parliamentary hearings in the committees were organized.
In last five years, reports of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiev, Minister of Economy Sunatilla Bekenov and others were heard at the parliament.
In future, the UzLiDeP plans to continue to support gradual implementation of constitutional principle of division of powers, creation effective system of checks and balances, further developing parliamentarism, etc.
Important task of the party is to strengthen multi-party system and inter-party competition, create whole system on parliamentary and public control over execution of the laws and activities of the state bodies, including law enforcement bodies. The party said it is necessary to update the laws “On state government in places”, “On political parties” and other legislative documents. The party said it is also necessary to develop the law “On parliamentary control”.
The party also calls to transfer some authorities from central state bodies to state bodies in places and public structures and self-governing bodies. The priority task of the party is to further democratize and improve efficiency of the work of the state bodies.
