Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A working group consisting of representatives of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and its Ferghana Regional Administration examined the region’s preparedness for the tourist season and its health safety in terms of travel.

The Ferghana region is a region with high potential not only in eco-, agro-and medical tourism, but also in the direction of crafts. Therefore, the working group visited Rishtan and examined the mahalla of artisans there.

Rishtan is one of the oldest cities on the Great Silk Road in the Ferghana Valley and Central Asia. This place is the largest center for the production of unique glazed ceramics in Central Asia.

It should be noted that during the visit to Rishtan, the working group visited the houses of Alisher Nazirov, Said Akhmedov and the Koron Ceramics center, where they examined national artisan products and souvenirs. Handicraft products have been produced here since ancient times. The secrets of production are passed down from generation to generation.

It is gratifying that here you can not only buy beautiful national handmade products, but also participate in the production process. According to artisans, this aspect also encourages foreign tourists to visit Rishtan.

Creating family guest houses in the houses of craftsmen is a great convenience for tourists visiting Rishtan, as they can live there, communicate with the owners and enjoy obtaining craft skills.

In addition, local residents present their special folklore and ethnographic programs to tourists visiting Rishtan and enjoy the creativity of their guests.

Representatives of the working group gave recommendations to artisans to provide safer and better services for tourists during the coronavirus pandemic. Their problems and plans were heard, and appropriate agreements were reached on necessary issues.
