Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The newly appointed Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov presented copies of his credentials to Victoria Busby, Director of the Protocol Department of the British Foreign Office. This was reported by Dunyo news agency.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of the development of Uzbekistan and the further development of Uzbek-British multifaceted cooperation.
Victoria Busby emphasized the readiness of the British side to further expand and strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbekistan.
The Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ravshan Usmanov arrived in London on 14 November 2023. Since 2018, he has been ambassador to Malaysia. Ravshan Usmanov replaced Said Rustamov, who served as ambassador to London since 2019.
Ravshan Usmanov is a graduate of the University of Birmingham (UK), the University of World Economy and Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent State Law Institute (now a university). He began working in the system of the foreign policy department of Uzbekistan in 2000. Usmanov held various positions in the central office and the embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain. He also headed the Foreign Ministry's Office for Cooperation with European Countries and NATO. Ravshan Usmanov worked as ambassador to France, as well as part-time in Italy and Portugal.
