Rare artifacts discovered in Namangan region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Rare artifacts have been discovered at the archaeological site of Axsikent in the Namangan region, according to the press service of the Cultural Heritage Agency.

Among the findings is a 2.3-meter-wide staircase and underground arched corridors found at a depth of 4 meters.

During the excavation, 12 steps and additional underground passages connected to the main corridor were uncovered.

Archaeologists determined that the structures were built from durable brick and adorned with arches. The discoveries also include ancient Italian shells and heating systems, indicating a high level of technological advancement for that period.

Additionally, images from the Karakhanid era, ancient walls, water supply systems, and defensive structures were uncovered. Excavations continue on other unique objects, such as tombs and residential buildings dating back to the 10th-12th centuries.
