Quadrobers in Uzbekistan may face up to 15 days of administrative arrest

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan has warned adult participants of the quadrobers movement about potential consequences for minor hooliganism.

The Ministry noted that quadrobers were spotted in Tashkent, and such actions could be interpreted as disrespect towards citizens, as well as a violation of public order and tranquility.

The ministry emphasized that, according to Article 43 of the Administrative Responsibility Code, parents or legal guardians could be fined up to five sizes of basic estimated values (up to 1,875,000 soums) for failing to properly fulfill their responsibilities in the upbringing and education of minors.

If the offense is repeated within a year, the fine may range from 5 to 10 sizes of basic estimated values (from 1,875,000 to 3,750,000 soums).

In cases involving insults, harassment, or disturbances of public order, adult quadrobers may be held accountable under Article 183 of the Administrative Code, which stipulates a fine of 3 to 5 basic calculation units (from 1,125,000 to 1,875,000 soums) or up to 15 days of administrative arrest.

The Ministry called on parents and guardians to fulfill their responsibilities in raising well-rounded and well-behaved children.
