Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Hassan bin Hamza Hashim, Consul General of the State of Qatar in Uzbekistan, paid an official visit to the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

As part of the visit, the guest was presented with a detailed overview of the activities of IT Park, its ecosystem, and its promising projects. This was followed by an introduction to the operations of the UZINFOCOM center.

The main highlight of the visit was a meeting between the Minister of Digital Technologies, Sherzod Shermatov, and the Consul General of the State of Qatar. During the negotiations, the parties discussed various issues aimed at deepening bilateral cooperation in the field of digital technologies.

Particular attention was given to supporting and developing local startups in Uzbekistan through Qatari investment.

The sides also explored opportunities to bring national IT products developed in Uzbekistan to other Arab markets via Qatar.

In addition, the Qatari side was invited to take part in “ICTWeek Uzbekistan 2025,” including the participation of Qatari IT companies and the organization of a national pavilion at the event.

Further discussions focused on building cooperation between Qatari venture funds and Uzbek startups, strengthening human capital in the IT sector, and expanding the export of IT services.
