Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A delegation from Uzbekistan visited Doha, Qatar, to discuss prospects for collaboration in the field of labor migration.
The delegation included representatives from the Agency for Migration under the Cabinet of Ministers, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Uzbekistan’s embassy in Qatar.
During the visit, the Uzbek delegation held talks with Sheikha Najwa bint Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Qatar’s Deputy Minister of Labor. She highlighted the high demand for labor in Qatar and the significant potential for expanding cooperation with Uzbekistan in attracting skilled professionals.
“As of now, there are 560 Uzbek nationals working in Qatar. However, this number does not fully reflect the possibilities of our collaboration. We are ready to significantly increase quotas for Uzbek workers and facilitate their employment across various sectors of the economy,” said Sheikha Najwa.
As part of the discussions, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Agency for Migration and Qatar’s state recruitment company, Jusour. The agreement outlines the recruitment of Uzbek specialists in industries such as healthcare, tourism, hospitality, IT, engineering, and others.
Jusour has an extensive network of employer partners, enabling efficient job placement and recruitment of candidates.
Additionally, Uzbekistan will implement a program to prepare citizens interested in working in Qatar. Participants will undergo training in foreign languages and professional skills aligned with the demands of the Qatari labor market.
During the visit, Uzbekistan also showcased its potential in the field of labor migration, emphasizing its readiness for active cooperation with Qatar.
