The order was published on 28 November on the Russian official internet-portal of legal information.

The order said that the Russian leader approves proposal of the Russian Government on signing the agreement on development of the military and technical cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan.

Putin allowed Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia to sign the agreement with Uzbekistan and introduce changes to the text of agreement in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other bodies.

The Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation of Russia and the Ministry of Defense of Uzbekistan have been determined as relevant bodies on implementation of the agreement.

The order said that it is expedient to sign the agreement at high level.

The agreement aims at deepening cooperation as well as joining efforts to improve each other’s military hardware and technology and working on both countries’ scientific, technical and industrial capacities related to military, security, law enforcement and special forces applications.

Within the agreement, the sides can supply military equipment and tools each other, provide maintenance services to military equipment, exchange information in military-technical sphere, etc.

Uzbekistan and Russian can create joint ventures and capacities on development, production, repair, modernization and utilization of military products.

The agreement may lead to the creation of joint military-technical programs, the signing of contracts between the two sides’ relevant agencies and holding consultations with the involvement of experts from both Russia and Uzbekistan, according to the decree.
