Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russia will begin gas supplies to Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in October 2023. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club.

According to him, Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan will receive 3 billion cubic meters per year.

“These are small volumes, but it is critically important for both the economy of Kazakhstan and the economy of Uzbekistan. Then we can increase it,” Putin said.

The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan announced on 25 September that the republic had prepared the infrastructure to begin importing natural gas from Russia.

According to the Kazakh side, Kazakhstan will complete work on preparing infrastructure for gas pumping by the end of October.
