Public transport fares increased in Samarkand

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Samarkand, prices for public transport have changed from 6 September 2023. The corresponding decision was made on Wednesday by the khokim of Samarkand region.

According to the document, for travel on city passenger transport - buses, electric buses and trams - you will have to pay 2,000 soums if you use cash or bank cards. However, if a passenger uses a transport card (ATTO), the fare will be 1,600 soums.

At the same time, if the price of travel on a bus using a transport card is 1,600 soums, then the second transfer within an hour on the bus will cost 400 soums, the third and subsequent ones on the same type of transport will be completely free. If the second and third transfer is to a tram, the fare will be 1000 soums.

If a passenger first travels by tram (1,600 soums on a transport card), then the first transfer to a bus will cost 1,000 soums, the second - 400 soums, the third and subsequent ones - free.

In addition, separate tariffs are being introduced for a day, a week, 5, 10, 15, 20 days, a month, and so on up to a year for different categories of citizens - pensioners, disabled people, students and schoolchildren. A list of persons entitled to free travel on public transport has also been approved.

The document notes that passengers are now only allowed to exit from the front doors of public transport.
