According to the IMF, the public debt in 2016 will reach 15.9% in 2016, 14.7% in 2017, 13.4% in 2018, 11.9% in 2019 and 11.8% in 2020. It is worth to mention that all public debt is external.

External outstanding debt of Uzbekistan made up US$8.144 billion (13% of GDP) in 2014. It is expected that the figure made up US$10.456 billion in 2015 (15.8% of GDP), US$14.297 billion (20.7%) in 2016, US$14.553 billion (19.7%) in 2017, US$14.701 billion (18.7%) in 2018, US$14.634 billion (17.4%) in 2019 and US$15.654 billion (17.4%) in 2020.
