Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 31 July 2024, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, Tanzila Narbaeva, held a meeting with Nigina Abbaszade, the UNFPA Representative in Uzbekistan.
During the meeting, they reviewed the current state and future prospects of cooperation between Uzbekistan and UNFPA, including projects and activities supported by the Fund in Uzbekistan.
The dialogue addressed issues related to incorporating current demographic processes into the planning of socio-economic development in Uzbekistan’s regions and cooperation on the national census scheduled for 2025–2026.
Additionally, specific proposals were made to enhance the effectiveness of projects aimed at improving public health, reproductive health, and building human capacity through the use of modern technologies.
The discussion also included sharing best practices in implementing laws to combat violence and planning joint activities in this area.
