Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 February, Chairperson of the Senate Committee of the Oliy Majlis on Women and Gender Equality M. Kadirkhanova met with the senior coordinator of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) on gender equality and women’s empowerment J. Biggio.

At the meeting, relations between Uzbekistan and the United States were discussed, including issues of cooperation with USAID to support women.

It should be noted that several projects are being implemented jointly with USAID to ensure gender equality and increase the socio-political activity of women.

The American side highly appreciated the work being done in Uzbekistan to protect the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of women and children.

At the same time, the guests expressed their readiness to closely cooperate in the implementation of the Strategy for achieving gender equality in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030.

Also during the conversation, an exchange of views took place on joint future plans and ongoing international events.
