Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 May 2019, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Belgium hosted a meeting with the President and Managing Director of the Belgian Bridgin Foundation Tanko Muhamad and Program Director Christophe Priels.

The organization is a public fund for the purpose of financing various projects in other states. The source of funding for its activities are international financial structures (EIB, ECB, banks), grantors (EU countries and institutions, UN), as well as donors from European countries, the USA, Canada, Australia and others. The main condition for the foundation’s activity is state participation in projects, including in the form of public-private partnerships.

During the meeting, Tanko Muhamad expressed his gratitude for the submission of a copy of the letter of inquiry on behalf of the khokimiyat of Tashkent region on financing the project to create a modern agro-industrial cluster in Quyichirchiq district.

It should be noted that Tanko Muhamad said that this project is a pilot project, and the fund intends to expand its investment activities in Uzbekistan in the event of successful implementation of the project to create the Tashkent cotton cluster.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached on organizing a Bridgin foundation delegation’s visit on 7–14 June to conduct substantive negotiations with the project initiators, familiarize themselves with the construction site, as well as the presentation of the foundation.

In addition, taking into account the subsequent involvement in financing projects of various structures of the republic, as well as to discuss future cooperation prospects, Tanko Muhamad expressed readiness to visit Uzbekistan for substantive negotiations in other regions of our country.

In particular, the fund management gratefully accepted the invitation and confirmed its participation on 7-8 June in the Namangan Investment Forum to familiarize with potential projects for funding from Bridgin.
