Prospects for bilateral cooperation discussed with the Union of Municipalities of the Turkic World

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  A meeting took place between Ilkhom Norkulov, First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and Dr. Fahri Solak, Secretary-General of the General Assembly of the Union of Municipalities of the Turkic World (TDBB).

The meeting focused on the prospects for developing cooperation between Uzbekistan’s municipalities and the cities that are members of the TDBB.

Participants emphasized the importance of strengthening collaboration in areas such as urban planning, the development of master plans for territories, and the exchange of best practices and knowledge between Türkiye and Uzbekistan.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue strengthening cooperation and to further discuss potential projects.

The Union of Municipalities of the Turkic World (TDBB) was established in 2003 following the Summit in Azerbaijan in 2000. The TDBB includes over 1,179 municipalities from 30 countries, with its headquarters in Istanbul.

The union plays a significant role in strengthening cooperation between local authorities, promoting sustainable development, and establishing closer ties, particularly with Central Asian countries.
