Proposals received from bidders for the construction of 3 solar power plants in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan received proposals from 4 prequalified bidders in response to a request for proposals (RFP) announced on 7 July 2022 to select independent power producers for the construction and operation of 3 solar photovoltaic stations with a total capacity of 500 MW. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Energy.

Proposals were received for the construction and operation of photovoltaic stations in Bukhara, Namangan and Khorezm regions.

The scope of the project includes the design, financing, operation, maintenance, and transfer or decommissioning of photovoltaic power plants. For the project in Bukhara region, pre-qualified bidders must also submit their proposals for a 63 MW/125 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS).

The tender process is designed in such a way that the winner of the largest project (in Bukhara region) will not be able to bid for the other two projects in Namangan and Khorezm regions, and the same rule applies to the winners for the next two lots.

Prequalified Bidders (in alphabetical order):

1. Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company PJSC - Masdar (UAE) - for all 3 projects.

2. Alarko Holding AS (Turkey) - only for projects in Namangan and Khorezm regions.

3. Consortium: GD Power - Powerchina (China) - for all 3 projects.

4. Voltalia SA (France) - only for the project in the Khorezm region.

After evaluating the technical and commercial part of the proposals, the Tender Committee will invite the qualified Prequalified Bidders to the opening ceremony of financial proposals.
