Promising areas of cooperation in trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres were discussed in Japan with the city of Imabari

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In order to promote economic diplomacy, attract Japanese investment in the economy of the republic, as well as expand trade, economic and cultural ties with the regions of Japan, a business trip was made to the city of Imabari in Ehime Prefecture. This was reported by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Japan.

During the trip, negotiations were held with the mayor of the city of Imabari Shigeki Togunaga, the president of the newspaper publishing house "Ehime Shinbun" Hideo Dori, a visit to the elementary school of the city of Ehime Fukiage was organized, and a meeting with compatriots working in Ehime Prefecture, and also took part in events on the occasion of the international cycling marathon.

At a meeting with the mayor of the city of Imabari, Shigeki Togunaga, issues of trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation were considered. The mayor of the city, Sh. Togunaga, was familiarized with the ongoing reforms in Uzbekistan, the state of development of bilateral relations and the positive results achieved in all areas between the countries over the past 30 years.

Sh.Togunaga noted with satisfaction that Imabari companies are buying yarn for the production of terry products under the well-known brand IMABARI TOWEL, and noted that stable and reliable cooperation, as well as the high quality of Uzbek yarn, will expand and establish long-term trade relations. In addition, the mayor of the city spoke positively about attracting specialists from Uzbekistan to the city of Imabari and assured that he would attach particular importance to their activities in the city.

As the main directions of further cooperation, wishes were expressed to expand trade and economic ties and involve more and more companies in the textile industry of the republic, to establish cultural and humanitarian ties, to organize tourist trips between the cities of Uzbekistan and the city of Imabari. As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on holding bilateral events, as well as on organizing a subsequent visit of the delegation of the mayor of the city of Imabari to Uzbekistan.

At the request of the Imabari city hall, a visit to the Ehime Fukiage elementary school was organized, where they got acquainted with the conditions of education of students, and also told the students about Uzbekistan, relations between the two countries, historical cities. School students performed with a concert program and presentation of school life activities.

At the meeting, the president of the Ehime Shinbun newspaper publishing house, Hideo Dori, was interested in the political and economic development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, promising areas of cooperation, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties between the two countries. H. Dori got acquainted in detail with the large-scale reforms carried out in the republic under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sh. Mirziyoyev, the development of relations with the cities of Japan, the ongoing work to attract Japanese companies in the implementation of joint projects, especially in the private sector. H. Dori expressed satisfaction with the ongoing cooperation in the textile industry with the city of Imabari and spoke about the great opportunities for expanding ties between Uzbekistan and Ehime Prefecture.

Further, meetings were held with compatriots engaged in labor activity in the field of construction, their working and living conditions. Compatriots working in Japanese companies also expressed satisfaction with the working and living conditions. During the conversation, an agreement was reached on the comprehensive support of compatriots on issues that arise in the course of living and carrying out activities in Japan.
