Project “Architectural epigraphy of Uzbekistan” presented in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent hosted a presentation of the project “Architectural epigraphy of Uzbekistan”. Within the first stage of the project, 12 volumes of book-album on epigraphy of Uzbekistan was presented to the public.

Representatives of scientific circles, state and public organizations, international institutions and diplomatic corps attended the presentation.

The project was realized at support of the Government of Uzbekistan. Within the project, epigraphy of all architectural monuments, located in Uzbekistan, were studied and summarized to one set.

The first phase project prepared 12 volumes of books on epigraphy of Karakalpakstan, Andijan, Namangan, Ferghana, Samarkand, Navoi, Khiva, Surkhandarya, Kashkadarya, Bukhara and Tashkent city.

Within the second project, it is planned to cover all other unstudied epigraphy of Uzbekistan. In total it is planned to publish 25 volumes.

During research, scripts of over 1,500 monuments were studied and translated, among them were over 200 rhymes and scripts, over 100 names of masters and calligraphists, 300 religious and 150 educational scripts, 100 decrees of rulers, 100 historic dates, etc.
