Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - The Ministry of Finance hosted a meeting with representatives of the United Nations (UN) led by a global activist for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), Professor Jeffrey Sachs.

The guests thanked for the warm welcome and stressed the importance of the reforms taking place in the country, and said that they would be happy to assist in the process of implementing these changes.

JEFFREY Sachs Jeffrey Sachs said: “Eurasia is now in the spotlight. Uzbekistan and its neighbors are developing rapidly and have great potential, there are a lot of opportunities here. Geographically, your country plays a strategic role. Tashkent can become a financial hub and a logistics hub in the region. We would like to promote the development of mutually beneficial interaction to achieve these objectives. "

The sides discussed measures implemented in Uzbekistan on the Sustainable Development Goals, options for cooperation in the effective implementation of the SDGs, including the holding of summer schools, as well as the financing of the SDGs in our country. Following the talks, the parties agreed on specific areas of cooperation.
