Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On measures to improve the system of material and social support for students of state higher educational institutions, foreign and non-governmental organizations of higher education in the republic” was adopted.

The document approved the Regulations on the procedure for financing state scholarships of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for undergraduate students of branches of foreign higher education organizations and non-state higher education organizations studying on the basis of joint educational programs of state higher educational institutions and working in the republic.

Every year, by 15 October, an educational institution calculates the number of students receiving scholarships for the current academic year, as well as the amount of scholarships paid to them, and submits an application to the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation for the allocation of the necessary funds from the budget.

Until 1 November, the Ministry transfers in full the funds for the payment of scholarships for the current year.

Scholarships are paid in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers from 13 October  2008 No. 226 “On Encouragement and Material Incentives for Gifted Youth of Uzbekistan”.

The Regulations on the procedure for financing expenses for the purchase of food, clothing and sanitary and hygienic supplies for orphans and those left without parents or other legal representatives studying in non-state higher educational institutions were also approved.

An application for financial assistance to students is submitted by the university until September 15, and the transfer of the Ministry is provided until October 1.

The procedure for providing material assistance is established by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers from 21 November 2020 No. 739 “On measures to further strengthen the social protection of orphans and children deprived of parental or other legal guardianship”.
