Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 28 September, the Silk Road Tourism University hosted an international online conference on the topic: "Problems and prospects of tourism development in the SCO countries", timed to coincide with the International Tourism Day.
The organizer of this conference was the International University of Tourism "Silk Road", together with the Center for Public Diplomacy of the SCO in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The conference was solemnly opened by the Deputy Prime Minister, Rector of the International University of Tourism "Silk Road" Mr. Aziz Abdukhakimov, who focused on the timely discussion of the issues of tourism restoration among the SCO countries, and the strategic importance of the country’s educational, sports, cultural and humanitarian relations on the agenda organizations.
Representatives of such countries as Russia, China, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan took an active part in the conference.
During the event, the participants actively discussed the development of multilateral cooperation between the SCO member states in such priority areas of humanitarian cooperation as culture, education and tourism. During the meeting, the parties discussed the impact of the coronavirus on the development of the tourism industry in the SCO countries. Special attention was paid to the issues of International Declarations and Agreements.
As a result of the online meeting, the participants agreed on interaction and further cooperation in resolving issues of restoring the tourism industry in the post-pandemic period.
