Priority measures for the socio-economic development of Tashkent discussed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 18 November, under the leadership of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, a meeting of the Government Commission on Foreign Trade, Investments, Development of Local Industry and Technical Regulation was held via videoconference.

The meeting was attended by responsible officials of the Cabinet of Ministers, heads of ministries, departments, commercial banks, khokims of Yashnabad, Bektemir, Chilanzar, Mirzo Ulugbek, Shaykhantakhur and Yunusabad districts, their deputies and other responsible persons.

During the meeting, the implementation of the instructions of the Head of State on the socio-economic development of the districts of Tashkent, as well as the organization of targeted work with individuals and legal entities, the timely launch of investment projects and the solution of the problems of the initiators, as well as the creation of new jobs and the development of industrial production were discussed.

Reports of responsible leaders assigned to the districts of Tashkent were heard. A detailed analysis showed omissions in the organization of work to solve the tasks. In this regard, it was instructed to take measures to develop industry and the service sector, expand investment attraction, increase export potential, develop small businesses and private entrepreneurship, expand revenue sources for local budgets, develop public transport and engineering and communication infrastructure. employment of persons included in the "iron", "women’s" and "youth" notebooks, improving the quality of services in the field of health, education and culture.

An instruction was given to organize the main headquarters in the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade. In addition, operational headquarters will be created in the district khokimiyats, which will be headed by the district khokims. Their tasks will also include studying the situation and developing systemic proposals to accelerate the further socio-economic development of the territories.

As a result of the meeting, an appropriate protocol was adopted, the control over the implementation of which is entrusted to the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
