Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbekistan proposed to develop an agreement with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) on the electronic exchange of information on goods and vehicles for accelerated movement across borders.

Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov expressed this initiative at a meeting of the EAEU intergovernmental council, TASS reported.

Aripov also proposed that the EAEU hold consultations on ensuring the functioning of green corridors and developing measures for free trade in agricultural products without the use of restrictions.

Abdulla Aripov added: “We propose to hold consultations at the level of our relevant ministers with the development of specific measures to ensure the full functioning of green corridors and free trade in agricultural products without the use of tariff and non-tariff restrictions.”

The head of the government of Uzbekistan also proposed holding the first joint meeting of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the EAEU Business Council in 2024.
