Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 July, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov.

Recalling a recent telephone conversation with the President of Uzbekistan, the head of state said that during the conversation he congratulated Shavkat Mirziyoyev on his convincing victory in the elections and expressed satisfaction that our relations have a positive development trend in all areas. President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of the visit of the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov to the country in terms of determining the prospects for cooperation, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee reports.

Noting that bilateral relations are developing from year to year, the President of Azerbaijan expressed confidence that new successful projects aimed at expanding cooperation will be implemented in the future.

First of all, Abdulla Aripov conveyed to President Ilham Aliyev the greetings of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and stressed that the President of Uzbekistan is always happy to communicate with his friend and brother President Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state thanked for the greetings and asked to convey his greetings to the President of Uzbekistan.

Noting that President Ilham Aliyev was the first head of state to congratulate Shavkat Mirziyoyev after the elections held in Uzbekistan, Abdulla Aripov stressed that this is an example of friendship and brotherhood between heads of state and countries.

Noting that under the leadership of the head of state, Azerbaijan has achieved great success, the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan said that the development of Baku made a deep impression on them.

At the meeting, the state visit of President Ilham Aliyev to Uzbekistan and the priority areas for the comprehensive development of bilateral cooperation identified within its framework were noted, it was emphasized that the results of the work done in this direction are very positive, it was brought to attention that new projects are being implemented in the trade, economic, investment , energy, agricultural, transport and logistics and industrial sectors.

During the conversation, the importance of the Middle Corridor was emphasized, the prospects for the participation of Uzbek companies in the free economic zone created in Azerbaijan, the activities of the intergovernmental commission were noted, the importance of the 12th meeting of the Joint Azerbaijani-Uzbek intergovernmental commission held on July 18 in Shusha was noted.
