Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26-27 May, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov held bilateral meetings with the heads of Russian regions who arrived in Uzbekistan to participate in the Council of Regions.

The first meeting of the Council of Regions of Uzbekistan and Russia took place on 27 May as part of the state visit of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan.

During the meetings, issues of further development and deepening of economic cooperation between the two countries were discussed based on the principles of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance.

Particular attention was paid to expanding practical interaction, increasing the volume of mutual trade, promoting projects in various sectors of the economy, supporting innovative cooperation programs, as well as the development of science and education, active cultural and humanitarian exchange.
