Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Amendments have been made to the law on currency regulation. Now in Uzbekistan it is allowed to peg the prices of some goods to foreign currency and conventional units.

According to the amendments to the law on foreign exchange regulation, price pegging is allowed when selling goods (works, services) in Uzbekistan under agreements on public-private partnership based on presidential decrees and projects for which foreign investment was attracted through the government.

In addition, the relations associated with concessions are regulated by the Law on Public-Private Partnership. The procedure for PPP projects will now apply to concession projects.

From now on, tender documents and draft PPP agreements will only be approved for the amount of more than US$1 million.

The amendments also define the powers of local executive bodies in the field of PPP. The list of published information on PPP projects has also been clarified. In particular, the following information will be posted on the official websites:

the names of the parties to the project;

direction of the project;

place the project;

term of project implementation;

goods sold to consumers;

The total cost of the project;

the size and types of government support.

Concession is a type of agreement on the creation or reconstruction of state-owned real estate objects at the expense of the investor, as a result of which the investor gets the opportunity to operate the object on a reimbursable basis, collecting income in his favor.
