Press Conference of the Tourism Committee: Results of 2024 and Plans for 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 29 January 2025, the Tourism Committee held a press conference to summarize the results of its work in 2024 and discuss plans for 2025. The event was attended by the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Umid Shadiev, Committee staff, deputies of regional governors responsible for tourism, as well as representatives from regional tourism departments.

Also participating in the press conference were responsible representatives from the Transport, Finance and Economics, Tax, and Customs Committees, the Chamber of Commerce, the Association of Hotels, and the Association of Private Tourism Organizations. The conference covered key achievements in the tourism sector over the past year and outlined priority tasks for 2025.

One of the main topics of discussion was the creation of conditions for tourists in 2024. The participants were introduced to numerous new developments, such as the commissioning of large new facilities, the creation of gastronomic and tourist streets, and improvements in tourism legislation. Results were also presented on efforts to increase tourist traffic and enhance service quality.

Special attention was given to efforts to improve regional infrastructure and implement projects aimed at enhancing the country’s attractiveness for both foreign and local tourists. The progress made in the development of tourism services was highlighted, significantly boosting the country’s appeal as a tourist destination.

The press conference also addressed plans for 2025. One of the key goals will be to introduce new tourist routes and further strengthen Uzbekistan’s image as a tourist destination. Other important directions include the development of ecotourism, strengthening infrastructure, and implementing innovative technologies and digital platforms, which will improve service levels and make the country even more attractive to tourists.

Furthermore, it was noted that in 2025, special attention will be given to sustainable tourism, which includes not only infrastructure development but also ensuring the preservation of natural and cultural resources.
