Presidents of Uzbekistan and Russia expressed satisfaction with the fruitful results of the negotiations

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin held a briefing for media representatives after the negotiations.

The head of our state sincerely thanked the President and the people of Russia for their exceptionally warm welcome and cordial hospitality.

The leaders reported that detailed negotiations took place, the spectrum of Uzbek-Russian relations were discussed in detail, and new horizons for mutually beneficial cooperation were outlined. The presidents noted the high dynamics and significant progress in all areas of the bilateral multifaceted partnership.

The commitment to the further development of mutually beneficial cooperation and taking it to new levels was confirmed.

The President of Uzbekistan drew attention to the fact that there is not only a steady increase in quantitative indicators of trade, economic and investment cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia, but also qualitative changes have occurred. In particular, if previously the lion’s share of the structure of bilateral trade turnover was made up of raw materials, now 70 percent falls on products with high added value.

In the investment sphere, there is also an increase in innovative projects in the light and chemical industries, automotive and mechanical engineering, healthcare and pharmaceuticals.

Special attention was paid to the issue of providing social guarantees to our citizens working in Russia.

The growth of tourist attractiveness of Uzbekistan for Russian citizens was emphasized. It was stated that the influx of Russian tourists has increased by 20 percent since the beginning of the year.

The parties agreed to organize mutual Days of Culture, Art and Literature in 2024-2025.

The importance of further expanding bilateral ties in the fields of culture, education and medicine was noted.

The presidents emphasized that the focus remains on countering traditional and new challenges and threats, primarily terrorism, extremism, organized crime and drug trafficking.

The parties expressed confidence that the agreements reached and documents signed will contribute to the further development of strategic partnership and alliance, strengthening friendly ties between the peoples of Uzbekistan and Russia.
