Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the ongoing construction site of the "Yangi Uzbekiston" residential complex in the city of Ferghana.
Ensuring decent living conditions for the population and developing social infrastructure remain priorities for the head of our state. Therefore, such projects are actively implemented in all regions.
The President has already visited the construction of this complex in Ferghana twice – in 2022 and last year. Over an area of 300 hectares, 365 multi-story buildings are being gradually constructed, intended to accommodate 65,000 residents. These buildings vary in height from 7 to 25 floors, showcasing an innovative approach to urban planning in the region.
The first homes and green areas have already been put into operation, providing housing for 75 buildings and 2,887 apartments. Based on this, the Nurafshon mahalla has been created, where more than 500 families have already settled. Two schools and three kindergartens have opened here, and playgrounds echo with the joyful shouts of children. This year, the plan includes constructing another 25 buildings.
Such residential complexes hold significant social importance for densely populated cities, where attention is given to matching housing quality with the people's needs.
Modern educational institutions, medical facilities, a sports complex, as well as commercial and household services, are being built on the premises.
To provide employment opportunities for the population, a small industrial zone is being created on 50 hectares of the complex, where enterprises for food production, sewing, textiles, leather and footwear, pharmaceuticals, furniture, and electrical goods are already operating. Currently, 5 projects totaling 423 billion soums are planned to be implemented, leading to the creation of 700 new jobs.
The "Yangi Uzbekiston" complex can be considered an eco-city. Spanning an area of 70 hectares, the territory includes a park with alleys, an artificial lake, and an amphitheater seating 4,000. The park features shrubs, decorative trees, and various attractions.
The head of state inspected the current state of work, toured the complex, and visited the amphitheater, where a brief concert program took place
