Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that the only and fair solution to the conflict between Palestine and Israel should be the establishment of “two states for two nations.” This statement was made by him during a meeting of the Council of Heads of States of the Organization of Turkic States, which took place in Astana.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev also expressed concern about the growing crisis of confidence in the world and violations of international law.

He stressed that the long-term Palestinian-Israeli conflict in the Middle East poses an extreme threat, causing a large number of casualties, including civilians, women, children and the elderly.

President Mirziyoyev called on the parties to the conflict to immediately stop hostilities and achieve a truce for humanitarian purposes.

He also noted that Uzbekistan provided financial assistance to the United Nations Agency for the Near East to provide humanitarian assistance to the population of the Gaza Strip. Let us recall that Uzbekistan allocated US$1.5 million to the UN agency.

The President concluded that the only fair solution to this problem should be the creation of “two states for two nations.” He emphasized the need to declare this principled position on the world stage within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States.
