Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Today, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will meet with a delegation from the Republic of Türkiye. This was announced by the press secretary of the President of Uzbekistan Sherzod Asadov.
According to Asadov, the delegation includes Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya, and National Intelligence Organization Director Ibrahim Kalin.
The Turkish delegation arrived in Tashkent as part of the agreements reached during President Mirziyoyev’s official visit to Türkiye on 6-7 June 2024.
Scheduled are bilateral talks as well as a joint meeting with heads of foreign policy, law enforcement agencies, and intelligence services.
The focus will be on the practical implementation of decisions made by the leaders of both countries and strengthening coordination and cooperation in addressing modern security challenges and threats.
This is the first meeting of its kind and aims to establish systematic cooperation in priority areas of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Türkiye.
