President of Uzbekistan visits the “Imkoniyatlar Olami” Center in Andijan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the regional social services center “Imkoniyatlar Olami” (“World of Opportunities”) in the city of Andijan to review the conditions created for people in need.

The center was established as part of efforts to expand the principle of “human dignity as the highest value” and in accordance with the Presidential Decree of 27 February 2025, aimed at improving the system of social support for children with disabilities.

Occupying nearly 5 hectares, the facility includes an administrative building, premises for inclusive education and vocational training, a children’s playground, a sports hall, and a swimming pool. It provides services to children with disabilities and individuals requiring continuous care, including medical and social rehabilitation, career guidance, foreign language training, and free supplementary education for children from low-income families.

More than 60 specialists work at the center, while referrals are provided by the “Inson” centers.

One of the center’s unique initiatives is its early intervention service, which supports children from birth to the age of three, as well as expectant mothers when a risk of disability is detected during pregnancy. Psychological support is also offered to families.

The President also visited the supplementary education zone and noted that children with disabilities can engage in extracurricular activities, study languages, and access the internet.

Since the beginning of the year, nearly 10,000 children from underprivileged families in the Andijan region have been enrolled in kindergartens, 29,000 have received medical assistance, and 20,000 have benefited from social services.

The center also offers day care services for people with disabilities, enabling their relatives to pursue employment.

Visitors to the center expressed gratitude to the President for his support.

“It brings me joy to see your growing sense of hope and interest in life. We will continue to expand this kind of support. All that is needed from you is patience, faith, and a desire to move forward,” said President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The center’s sports complex includes a hall for therapeutic physical education and a swimming pool adapted for children with disabilities. The equipment meets international standards for adaptive sports.

The President emphasized the importance of strengthening the health of children with disabilities and engaging the elderly in appropriate physical activities.
