Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the National Pavilion of Uzbekistan at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP29) in Baku.
The pavilion, organized to showcase Uzbekistan's cultural heritage and its approaches to ecology and climate issues, provided the President with detailed information about its concept and planned activities.
The pavilion’s architecture, named "Sustainability Inside," is inspired by the Uzbek *hovli* (courtyard), symbolizing harmony with nature and family traditions.
Constructed from eco-friendly materials such as adobe plaster and wood, the pavilion incorporates traditional Uzbek elements like the *ayvan* (veranda) and *tapchan* (wooden platform), creating a comfortable microclimate that reflects the idea of a sustainable future.
During the summit, more than 20 side events will be held at the pavilion, focusing on addressing socio-ecological challenges in the Aral Sea region, the development of green economy practices, renewable energy, water-saving technologies, food security, and biodiversity conservation.
