President of Uzbekistan takes part in the informal CIS summit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev took part in an informal meeting of the heads of state of the CIS in St. Petersburg on 26 December.

The event was attended by President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

During the meeting, the main results of multilateral cooperation in 2023 were summed up and priority tasks for the coming year were considered. An exchange of views took place on the prospects for the development of multifaceted relations within the CIS, and current issues on the regional agenda were discussed.

It should be noted that in recent years our country has taken an active part in the activities of the Commonwealth.

Uzbekistan has joined more than 20 industry cooperation bodies and 24 important agreements in priority areas and industries.

The portfolio of industrial cooperation projects with companies from the CIS countries exceeded US$30 billion and covers almost all industries.

The head of our state especially noted the need to radically expand practical interaction and increase the efficiency of existing institutional mechanisms of cooperation within the CIS.
