The Legislative Chamber of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan passed the law on 18 November, while Senate approved it on 3 December 2015. The law will come into force six month after its official publication (10 December 2015).

The law is aimed at improving efficiency of state bodies based on wide use of ICT, optimize rendering electronic state services and their quality, simplify procedures and terms of services, decrease administrative expenses, etc.

MPs noted that the law will help to improve efficiency of state bodies and quality of electronic state services, provided to legal entities and individuals.

It will expand use of ICT in various spheres, improve decision making and decrease expenses for public administration, avoid double work of the state bodies.

Currently, the Governmental portal of Uzbekistan and Single interactive state services portal are operating in Uzbekistan, which provide over 250 services to individuals and legal entities.
