Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has signed a law introducing amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2024.”
The amendments allocate:
An additional 2.5 trillion soums to increase the charter capital of commercial banks, aimed at supporting entrepreneurial projects and small businesses.
1.3 trillion soums for construction and repair projects addressing pressing infrastructure issues in local communities (mahallas).
840.5 billion soums for the Educational Credit Fund to meet the growing demand for such loans and settle debts from the previous year.
Additionally, 524.8 billion soums will be directed to the reserve fund of the Cabinet of Ministers for socio-economic development and state-level initiatives. Another 200 billion soums is allocated to support young entrepreneurs.
The amendments also optimize certain expenditures by reducing duplicate positions and cutting budgetary costs. These adjustments consider planned capital investments in designing, constructing, and equipping facilities, as well as the ability to utilize current year budget funds effectively.
As a result, the total expenditures of the republican budget will increase by almost 10 trillion soums.
