Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 June, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the co-chairman of the Uzbek-Saudi Business Council, Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACWA Power Muhammad Abunayyan.

During the meeting, the current issues of further expanding practical cooperation with leading companies of Saudi Arabia and the progress of joint investment projects were discussed.

The head of our state noted with satisfaction the achieved high level of fruitful partnership with ACWA Power.

The company’s leading role in the development of the country’s energy market was emphasized. Today, the joint portfolio of existing and prospective projects amounts to more than US$17 billion.

The importance of continuing work to attract new Saudi companies to our country within the activities of the Business Council was emphasized.

Special attention was paid to the acceleration of the implementation of joint projects in the construction and management of airports, modernization of digital and energy infrastructure, expansion of heat supply networks, waste processing, pharmaceutical production, opening of oncology clinics, establishment of a tourist center, textile cluster, development of greenhouse farming and animal husbandry, and others.
