Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Today, on 1 November, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, who is in our country on a working visit to attend a meeting of the Council of Heads of Government of the SCO Member States.
The head of our state, warmly welcoming the guest, noted with deep satisfaction the established open and confidential dialogue at the highest level, which brought the Uzbek-Turkmen strategic partnership to a new level.
Rashid Meredov expressed sincere gratitude to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the warm welcome and conveyed greetings and best wishes from the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the meeting, it was emphasized that there is great potential for further building up mutually beneficial cooperation in the trade, economic, transport and communications, energy, agricultural and other sectors of the economy.
The importance of deepening interregional ties and cultural and humanitarian exchange was noted.
Issues of the regional agenda were also considered, including in the context of upcoming top-level events in bilateral and multilateral formats.
