On the last day of his official visit to Turkmenistan President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov visited the village of Kipchak where he laid flowers at the family mausoleum of the first president of Turkmenistan, Saparmurat Niyazov.
Then, the Uzbek president attended the flower laying ceremony at the Monument of Independence of Turkmenistan erected in the park in the southern part of the Turkmen capital. Islam Karimov planted a pine tree in the alley of honorary guests.
Within the framework of the programme of staying in Ashgabat Islam Karimov also visited the museum of the first president of Turkmenistan which is part of the National Cultural Center. Having toured the museum, the president of Uzbekistan signed the book of honorary guests.
Later, the Uzbek president’s motorcade left for the Akhalteke equestrian where Islam Karimov was met by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov. The presidents of the two neighboring states watched a horse show of Turkmen riders and demonstration of Akhalteke racers - the winners of the breed. As the Ashgabat correspondent of Turkmenistan.ru reports, President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov was presented with Akhalteke dun stallion called Rovach born in 2002.
