Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Issues of expanding practical interaction, supporting and promoting cooperation projects, introducing innovations and advanced technologies, as well as other aspects of further deepening Uzbek-Turkish relations of a comprehensive strategic partnership were included in the agenda of the meeting of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev with a delegation of the Republic of Turkiye led by Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank on 12 April.

The Turkish delegation arrived in our country on behalf of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to demonstrate and hand over the first national electric car under the Togg brand.

The head of our state noted with particular satisfaction the current high dynamics of bilateral cooperation, the intensification of mutual contacts and exchanges at all levels.

As an example, they cited the steady growth in trade volumes, the joint implementation of a number of large investment projects in priority sectors, and an increase in the frequency of regular flights between the two countries.

Wide opportunities were noted for the development of industrial cooperation by attracting leading Turkish companies to the implementation of projects, including in the automotive industry.

Particular attention was paid to the careful preparation of the next meeting of the Council for Strategic Cooperation of the highest level, including the formation of a portfolio of promising projects and the adoption of a long-term industrial program.

At the end of the meeting, a presentation of the Togg electric car took place, during which Minister Mustafa Varank spoke in detail about the technical characteristics of the vehicle and solemnly handed over its keys.

The leader of our country, expressing gratitude, sincerely congratulated the President and the people of Turkiye on a great achievement in the field of mechanical engineering - the launch of industrial production of an electric vehicle.

The head of our state got behind the wheel and personally tested the electric car, one of the first to come off the assembly line of the Turkish manufacturer.
