Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 5 May, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a French delegation led by Olivier Besht, Co-Chairman of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission, Minister Delegate for Foreign Trade, Economic Attractiveness and Affairs of French Citizens Abroad.

Issues of promoting and accelerating specific projects of trade, economic, investment and financial cooperation with the participation of leading French companies and organizations in our country were considered.

At the beginning of the meeting, Minister Olivier Beshte conveyed warm greetings and a personal message from French President Emmanuel Macron.

The head of our state noted with great satisfaction the productive results of the meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission, held today in the morning in the city of Tashkent, and the business mission of the Medef Movement to our country in April this year.

Progress was emphasized on strategic projects implemented in the field of green energy, the extractive industry, the modernization of tourism infrastructure and utility networks, and other priority areas

The interest of French companies in the implementation of projects in the field of urban planning, transport, the textile industry, and the production of new types of building materials is growing.

The leader of Uzbekistan welcomed the plans to establish an Uzbek-French Chamber of Commerce and introduce an effective system to support business initiatives.
