Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 April, on the sidelines of the Tashkent International Investment Forum, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received President of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) Muhammad bin Sulaiman al-Jasser.
Issues of further deepening of full-scale cooperation with the Bank group within the framework of the new medium-term Partnership Program were discussed.
It was noted with satisfaction that at present the portfolio of joint projects exceeds $1.3 billion covering priority sectors of the economy. Within the framework of the forum, agreements were signed on the implementation of projects in the field of modernization of rural and transport infrastructure, development of preschool education in the amount of $400 million.
Much attention was paid to expanding practical cooperation and promoting specific projects in the field of supporting entrepreneurship and private investment, improving financial instruments, actively involving the Bank’s structures in project activities, as well as to expand technical assistance in the issues of our country’s accession to the WTO and the creation of an innovation ecosystem.
