Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 July, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from the Republic of Türkiye led by Fuat Oktay, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Grand National Assembly.

Issues of further enhancing a comprehensive strategic partnership and multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye were considered.

Fuat Oktay, on behalf of the President and the fraternal people of Türkiye, sincerely congratulated the Leader of Uzbekistan on his convincing victory in the recent Presidential Election.

It was emphasized that the Turkish side highly appreciates and fully supports the pragmatic policy of the President of Uzbekistan, aimed at improving the population’s welfare and strengthening the country’s international authority.

During the talks, special attention was paid to the issues of developing inter-parliamentary exchanges and strengthening parliamentary control over the implementation of decisions taken at the highest level.

The President of Uzbekistan welcomed the agreements on establishing inter-parliamentary cooperation groups and developing an appropriate action plan.

The importance of taking coordinated measures to increase the trade turnover and expand air traffic, promote promising investment projects, and hold joint cultural and humanitarian events was also noted.
