Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 27 April, as part of the program of the second Tashkent International Investment Forum, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received UN Deputy Secretary-General, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Europe (EEC) Olga Algayerova.

Issues of developing multifaceted cooperation with the UN institutions, including the EEC, on the accelerated achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals were considered.

The fruitful interaction within the framework of the UN Special Program for the countries of the Central Asian region was noted with satisfaction. 

Interest was expressed in continuing a productive exchange on Uzbekistan’s accession to the World Trade Organization, as well as the implementation of the Yashil Makon program, projects for the digitalization of cargo transportation and the textile industry.

Issues of further expansion of cooperation with the UNECE in priority areas were discussed at the meeting.
